Job Description:

Job Summary: Assist with patient care activities and clerical tasks in a fast-paced nursing unit, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

This role is part of a 27-bed unit with a focus on neurological, thoracic, abdominal, and orthopedic trauma patients. The team is highly collaborative and values teamwork above all.

Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Meet expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  
• Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge.
  
• Complete relevant documents and maintain accurate records.
  
• Prepare patient rooms for admission by setting up IV poles and adjusting beds.
  
• Ensure patient belongings are returned to the patient at discharge.
  
• Transport patients safely and maintain confidentiality.
  
• Clean and maintain equipment and supplies.
  
• Run errands and perform tasks as required.
  
• Assist licensed personnel in providing a safe and comfortable environment.
  
• Perform unit-specific patient care tasks and document on the flowsheet.
  
• Identify and report changes in patient condition to the nurse in charge.
  
• Assist with inventory and maintain organized unit supplies.
  
• Respond to emergencies and communicate effectively with team members.
  
• Respond to phone calls and patient call lights.
  
• Adapt patient care methods to meet individual needs.
  
  
  Requirements:
  
  
  • 
    
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
    
  • Patient care experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
    
  • CNA License in state of employment required.
    
  • BLS required.
