Job Description:

Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care for patients with a wide range of medical issues, including Pneumonia, Cellulitis, COPD, Diabetes, Heart Failure, Renal Failure, Chest Pain and Liver Failure.
The RN prepares equipment, assists physicians during examinations and treatments, administers medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors patient vital signs.
The RN observes and maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress, and participates as primary nurse, associate nurse, team member or team leader in the planning and implementing of patient care.
The RN directs and assists in carrying out safe aseptic technique and procedures, offers leadership and direction to support staff, and collaborates with city and county leaders to provide resources to the community.
The Medical Surgical department has an average daily census of 14, and treats patients with a variety of medical issues.
Key Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care
  
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments
  
• Administer medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor patient vital signs
  
• Observe and maintain records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress
  
• Participate in planning and implementing patient care
  
• Direct and assist in carrying out safe aseptic technique and procedures
  
  Requirements:
  
  • 
    
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
    
  • One-year experience in nursing preferred
    
  • Current Texas State RN License
    
  • CPR (American Heart Association)
    
  • ACLS (American Heart Association) within 6 months of hire/transfer date
    
  • PALS (American Heart Association) within 18 months of hire/transfer date
    
  • NIHSS required within 90 days of hire/transfer date
