Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg - Alice, TX
Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic Medical Surgical Telemetry Pediatrics department.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients. Key responsibilities include:

• 
  
• Preparing equipment and assisting physicians during examinations and treatments
  
• Administering prescribed medications, changing dressings, cleaning wounds, and monitoring patient vital signs
  
• Observing and maintaining records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress
  
• Participating in the planning and implementing of patient care, directing and assisting in carrying out safe aseptic technique and procedures
  
  The Medical Surgical Telemetry Pediatrics department at Christus Spohn Alice has a daily average census of approximately 25 patients. We often see patients with CHF, Pneumonia, Skin Abscess, Chest Pain, COPD, Diabetes, Appendicitis, Cholecystectomy, EGD's, Colonoscopy, Pediatrics with Asthma, Bronchitis, Viral Syndrome, and Pneumonia.
  This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires hard work and critical thinking skills due to the range in age of patients and disease processes involved. We are a group of highly skilled nurses that are willing to teach and grow our own nurses to the fullest potential.
  Requirements
  
  • 
    
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
    
  • One year of experience in nursing preferred
    
  • Current Texas State RN License
    
  • CPR (American Heart Association)
    
  • ACLS (American Heart Association) within 6 months of hire/transfer date
    
  • PALS (American Heart Association) within 18 months of hire/transfer date
    
  • NIHSS required within 90 days of hire/transfer date
